The Planning and Strategy Directorate is a central governance and management unit of Makerere University, responsible for providing strategic leadership in institutional planning, development, and performance management.
Headed by the Chief Planner, the Directorate supports the University’s mission by coordinating long-term planning processes, guiding resource allocation, and ensuring that institutional growth is systematic, evidence-based, and aligned with national and global development priorities.
The Directorate translates Makerere University’s vision into clear plans, prioritized investments, and measurable results. It coordinates strategic planning processes, guides institutional development projects, supports resource-allocation decisions, and tracks performance to ensure that the University grows in a planned, sustainable, and accountable manner.
